NATURE RESERVES
The aim of protection is the maintenance of the forest lowland ecosystem with the habitats of rare plant and animal species.
On the area of Wymiarki Forest District 5 sanctuaries of 236.55 ha are located (1.01.2014) including:
- 1 forest sanctuary
- 3 peat bog sanctuaries
- 1 floral sanctuary
The most important sanctuaries in terms of phytosociology and floristics are: "Erica", "Crane Bog", "Rhynchospora Vahl Swamps", "Over the Mill Stream" and "Sheltered Place". They protect the plant positions in Europe of an atlantic type of range such as cross-leaved heath or brown beak-sedge included in Polish Red Book of Plants (Kaźmierczakowa, Zarzycki 2001).
