Sale conditions of wood are specified by the regulation of Director – General of the Sate Forests.
Within the framework of the individual sale , the foresters try to meet the fast growing demand, because more and more people use wood in order to heat their houses. Contrary to general opinion, these are not only village people, even though they prevail among recipients. The growth of firewood demand is the result of occurrence of new housing estates built in the suburbs of large agglomerations, where houses are usually equipped in fireplace heating installations.
Firewood is not only the most ecological heat source, but also is much more attractive in respect of relation of price and electric efficiency, rather than cola, oil, gas or electric power.
In recent years, the Sate Forests increased the sale of firewood of one third – up to over 4 million cubic meters annually. Some of customers choose already prepared and cut into pieces wood, the others very willingly obtain it by themselves after arranging all details and fulfilling particular safety conditions, and after paying the fee; that concerns mainly so called "thinnings". Such a raw material is very cheap, that is why many people from village areas profit from such possibility.

W związku z informacjami jakie pojawiły się w przestrzeni publicznej w zakresie rzekomo planowanej wycinki drzew z gatunku grab pospolity w wieku powyżej 300 lat na terenie naszej jednostki, jako Nadleśniczy Nadleśnictwa Wymiarki oświadczam.
Jedynym miejscem gdzie zinwentaryzowano na gruntach Skarbu Państwa będących w zarządzie Nadleśnictwa Wymiarki graba pospolitego (Carpinus betulus L.) w wieku przekraczającym 300 lat jest powierzchnia zlokalizowana w województwie lubuskim, powiecie żagańskim, gminie Iłowa – obszar wiejski, obręb ewidencyjny Borowe, działka nr 616. Znajduje się tam pomnik przyrody o nazwie „Grab z jamą” ustanowiony w dniu 04.04.2013 r. na podstawie Uchwały Nr 211/6/XXIII/13 Rady Miejskiej w Iłowej z dnia 12 marca 2013 r.
Jest to obszar położony w sąsiedztwie dawnego zwierzyńca zwanego Gajem Klementyny utworzonego około 1840 r. Działania leśników w ramach prowadzonej, zrównoważonej gospodarki leśnej ukierunkowane są na przywrócenie parkowego charakteru tych drzewostanów i zostały rozpoczęte w 2002 roku. W 2025 r. zrealizowane zostały prace leśne, które nie wpłynęły w żaden negatywny sposób na istniejący pomnik przyrody, który był i nadal będzie chroniony przez leśników.
